WHY BRING THE BOOK INTO YOUR ORGANISATION

Understand the work.
Improve the conversation.

When people interpret the same problem differently, a conversation can become caught between blame, resistance and urgency. The book provides a language for examining individual experiences alongside the systems that shape them.

It connects professional identity, leadership, recognition, autonomy, culture and results. The aim is to distinguish decisions people can make themselves from issues that require changes in organisational practice.

The shared aim of the book and the talk is to support organisational wellbeing with sustainable results: ways of working that respect human capacity and allow people to create value over time. The 45-minute talk opens the discussion; reading and the organisation’s subsequent work give it continuity.

Employees

Recognise their contribution, identify unclear responsibilities and prepare conversations about boundaries, recognition and development. The aim is to build sounder criteria for participating in decisions that affect their work.

Leaders

Examine habits of control, criteria for recognition and the way responsibility is distributed. The discussion can help leaders prepare clearer conversations about priorities, autonomy and the conditions their teams need.

Organisations

Explore the relationship between stated values, rewarded behaviours and people’s everyday experience. A shared basis for discussing culture, sustainable performance and decisions that have been repeatedly postponed.

DESPERTAR · DECIDIR · PROGREDIR

Four dimensions.
A fuller picture of work.

The O Teu Próximo Passo Method connects four complementary dimensions. Within an organisation, they help people ask more useful questions before choosing a response.

01 / IDENTITY

The role and the person

Explore the relationship between role, contribution, recognition and professional identity. Understand what people bring to work and what they hope to find in it.

02 / SYSTEM

The conditions in which people work

Look at rules, power, priorities and responsibilities. Recognise organisational problems that are too often carried by individuals without the authority to resolve them.

03 / DECISION

The criteria behind a choice

Clarify what matters, what can change and the consequences of leaving things as they are. Prepare decisions about practices, relationships and careers with a better understanding of context.

04 / ACTION

The move into practice

Identify achievable next steps, clarify who can act and revisit decisions in daily work. Applying the ideas depends on people’s commitment and the conditions the organisation creates.

A test of coherence: the four Ps.

The book’s New Human Contract connects people, purpose, profit and pride. It provides a way to discuss whether an organisation creates value while preserving the capacity, dignity and trust of the people who make that value possible.

  • Recognition and work that remains invisible.
  • Culture: the gap between values and practice.
  • Results, human capacity and sustainability.

HOW IT WORKS

A clear intention.
A conversation with a purpose.

The format can support a leadership meeting, annual gathering, development initiative or a book gift for your team. The starting point is the conversation your organisation wants to open.

  1. Share the context

Tell us about your organisation, audience, country and preferred package. If you are unsure which option fits, we can begin with that discussion.

  2. Agree the proposal

We align the approach, priorities and examples for the talk, along with the format and conditions. The date, availability of the books, language of delivery and logistical arrangements are confirmed before a commitment is made.

  3. Continue the discussion

The talk opens a shared conversation; the book allows each person to explore the ideas further. Your organisation decides how to revisit the questions through its practices and internal meetings.

PORTUGAL · MOZAMBIQUE · ANGOLA · CAPE VERDE · BRAZIL

A shared language.
Different working contexts.

The offer is also relevant to organisations with Portuguese-speaking teams across countries. An online talk can bring people together across locations; the content and schedule are agreed for the audience involved.

Portugal
In-person or online delivery, with the location, date and conditions set out in the proposal. The audience may be an individual team, a leadership group or a wider organisational gathering.
Mozambique, Angola and Cape Verde
Include the country and participants’ locations in your enquiry. The proposal considers organisational context, time zones, access to the session and arrangements for the books.
Brazil
Proposals can be prepared for Brazilian companies and teams, taking account of context and time zones. The books remain the original European Portuguese edition. Read the page for Brazil →

The packages use the original Portuguese-language edition; an English translation is not included. For international requests, availability, shipping, delivery times, taxes and payment arrangements are confirmed before any commitment.
